COMPETITION 2024

This year’s competitions weekends are as follows:

*Footloose Dancers will be performing Saturday, December 2nd at 7pm- Nassau Coliseum at the half time show if the New York Riptides Lacrosse Game. The fee is 100 per dancer, this will include 4 tickets. 

March 15th to 17th – Backstage Dance Competition (fees are due January 1st)

Solo- 135 per dancer, Duet/Trio- 85, Group- 65 per dancer

April 5th to 7th- High Demand Competition Step Up 2 Dance Competition (fess are due by February 1st)

Solos- 130 per dancer, Duet/Trio- 90 per dance, Group- 70 per dancer 

*May 17th to 19th – The Power of Dance  (fees are due by March 1st)

Solos- 165 per dancer, Duet/Trio- 90 per dance, Group- 70 per dancer


*Competition schedules do not go out until a week before the competition. Please reserve the entire weekend because we do not know when your child will be dancing

*There will be a full-dress rehearsal on Saturday, March 2nd at 12:00pm. A full-dress rehearsal means arrive in full hair, make-up, and costume. Please come dressed and ready to go! Make sure any adjustments that need to be made on costumes have been made.

*Competition costumes are $100 each and more elaborate costumes are $180. Payment is due NOW. I would like to order the costumes by October 1st. All students will be measured during rehearsal. So please get your costume payments in on time so we can have our costumes in ASAP. 

Rules and Regulations:

*All students must attend award ceremonies for their groups. This is mandatory!!!!

*Consistent attendance in rehearsals is a must. PLEASE notify the front desk when your child is going to be absent. 

Dancers will not be allowed to exceed more than five absences for competition rehearsals. Any student that has more than five absences will be taken off the team. PLEASE CALL THE STUDIO WHEN YOUR CHILD WILL BE ABSENT. Consistent attendance in technique class is also very important. If your child misses more than 5 ballet classes then those classes need to be made up.


  • Every student must have a team suit. Team suits must be worn at competitions. Costumes are not to worn on stage. Team suits can be ordered for all new dance team members. Each team suit will cost $180 dollars and payment must be made by November 10th. Sample sizes will be available at the front desk. Every dancer must have a team suit and they must be worn to every competition. 


*COMPETITION CLASS FEES HAVE NOW BEEN ADDED TO YOUR TUTION PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE US TO RUN YOUR CREDIT CARD NOW FOR SEPTEMBER. EACH COMP CLASS IS AN ADDITIONAL 50 A MONTH ADDED TO YOUR TUITION.


ALL dancers will need earrings.  All clip on earrings are 20 dollars each. 


False eyelashes must be worn at all the competitions. They can be purchased at CVS.  Please have them approved by one of the teachers. You will also need eyelash glue as well. 


Full make-up must be worn at all competitions. All dancers must wear the same make-up. You can purchase make-up at the front desk. Please put $20 in an envelope with your child’s name on it. The make-up you will be purchasing will be just the eyeshadow.  The rest of the make-up you will get on your own: MAC Blush called Blushbaby, Lipstick color is called DIVA, and a burgundy lipliner.   


You will get a costume guide in the upcoming months that will tell you exactly what color tights, and shoes your child will need for each dance that they are in.


All dances will have the same hair style (except for soloists). Hair slicked back in a low bun with a part down the middle. Please try and not use a bun maker if you can or if you need to please try and use a small one. Buns should not be so big. You will need a ton of hair spray, bobby pins, and a hairnet. Hair should be tight and secure and not fall out when dancing. 


*Please text @jcomand to 81010. Not only do I send emails out on a regular basis but also texts. This is extremely useful for rehearsal time changes and competition time changes.


*Production schedule will be given out in April. All students must be a part of the production.
