COMPETITION 2025
This year’s competitions weekends are as follows:
March 14th- 16th- Mark of Excellence (fees are due January 1st)
Solo- 170 per dancer, Duet/Trio- 90 per dancer, Group- 80 per dancer
Location: Marriott in Uniondale
*April 4th- 6th- True Talent Dance Competition (fees are due February 1st)
Solos- 170 per dancer, Duet/Trio- 90 per dancer, Group- 75 per dancer
Location: West Babylon High School
*May 16th- 18th - The Power of Dance (fees are due by March 1st)
Solos- 170 per dancer, Duet/Trio- 100 per dancer, Group- 80 per dancer
Location: West Islip High School
*Competition schedules do not go out until a week before the competition. Please reserve the entire weekend because we do not know when your child will be dancing. As soon as I receive the schedule, I will send it out to you my email or text.
*There will be a full-dress rehearsal on Saturday, March 1st at 12:00pm. A full-dress rehearsal means arrive in full hair, make-up, and costume. Please come dressed and ready to go! Make sure any adjustments that need to be made on costumes have been made.
*Competition costumes are $110 each and more elaborate costumes are $180. Payment is due NOW. I would like to order the costumes by October 1st. All students will be measured during rehearsal. So please get your costume payments in on time so we can have our costumes in ASAP.
Rules and Regulations:
*All students must attend award ceremonies for their groups. We realize that conflicts do arise. If you need to leave an awards ceremony you must let a teacher know.
*Consistent attendance in rehearsals is a must. PLEASE notify the front desk when your child is going to be absent. THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT. This goes for summer piece rehearsals as well. Please let us know if your child will be missing. Students can miss no more than 4 rehearsals.
*Consistent attendance in technique class is also very important. If your child misses more than 5 ballet or technique classes then those classes need to be made up. If your child is sick please do not send them to the studio unless they have been fever free for 24 hrs.
Team suits must be worn at competitions. Costumes are not to worn on stage. Team suits can be ordered for all new dance team members. Each team suit will cost $200 dollars and payment must be made by November 10th. Sample sizes will be available at the front desk. Every dancer must have a team suit and they must be worn to every competition.

*COMPETITION CLASS FEES HAVE NOW BEEN ADDED TO YOUR TUTION PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE US TO RUN YOUR CREDIT CARD NOW FOR SEPTEMBER OR TO ADD IT TO OCTOBER TUITION. EACH COMP CLASS IS AN ADDITIONAL 50 A MONTH. IF YOUR CHILD IS DOING A SOLO, DUET, OR TRIO THEN AN ADDITIONAL 30 DOLLARS A MONTH WILL BE ADDED TO YOUR MONTHLY TUITION UNTIL MAY. THIS WILL ONLY BEGIN ONCE THEIR CHOREOGRRAPHY IS COMPLETED AND WE GIVE YOU A REHEARSAL TIME.
-All competition team dances are in the recital along with the production piece. The Production piece encompasses all dance team members and choreography will begin after our May competition. THERE ARE NO SOLO, DUETS, OR TRIOS IN THE RECITAL. THIS INCLUDES SENIOR SOLOS.
MAKE-UP AND HAIR
*ALL dancers will need earrings. I order clip ons, even for pierced ears. Earrings are 20 dollars and are purchased at the front desk at the time of costume ordering.
False eyelashes must be worn at all the competitions. They can be purchased at CVS. Please have them approved by one of the teachers. You will also need eyelash glue as well.
Full make-up must be worn at all competitions. All dancers must wear the same make-up. You can purchase make-up at the front desk. Please put $20 in an envelope with your child’s name on it. The make-up you will be purchasing will be just the eyeshadow. The rest of the make-up you will get on your own: MAC Blush called Blushbaby, Lipstick color is called DIVA, and a burgundy lipliner.
You will get a costume guide in the upcoming months that will tell you exactly what color tights, and shoes your child will need for each dance that they are in.
All dances will have the same hair style (except for soloists). Hair slicked back in a low bun with a part down the middle. Please try and not use a bun maker if you can or if you need to please try and use a small one. Buns should not be so big. You will need a ton of hair spray, bobby pins, and a hairnet. Hair should be tight and secure and not fall out when dancing.
*Please text @jcomand to 81010 if you are not on the remind app. Not only do I send emails out on a regular basis but also texts. This is extremely useful for rehearsal time changes and competition time changes.
